Government of Mozambique approves off grid regulation
On 14th September the Council of Ministers approved the country’s first Regulation for Off-Grid Energy taking a key step towards universal access.
The regulation comes after a period of consultation between the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, the Energy Regulatory Authority, the National Energy Fund and key stakeholders. The Regulation will be a catalyst for private investment in off grid technologies – solar home systems, mini-grids, improved cooking solutions - which will drive rural socio-economic development and improve the living conditions of millions of Mozambicans.
